Biography
I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Minors in Art History and Marketing from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
In my own practice, I am intensely interested in where fine art & public art, design & merchandising might intersect. Simon Doonan is my hero.

Artist’s Statement
As an artist and designer with a firm grounding in merchandising, I create installations and vignettes for clients. Through each unique display I hope to interrogate the belief that fine art and design are inherently different, believing the main difference to be the venue in which they exist and thus, the way in which they are conceptualized. Though one may be in a gallery and another in a shop window, both occur in order to make a statement, sell themselves in one way or another, and to enhance their environments. In my work I am also interested in the challenge and opportunity to creatively transcend limitations that exist when working within a frame. Whether that frame is a shop window, a camera lens, a tabletop, or a catalogue page, I enjoy working within an accessible vehicle for succinct presentation of objects and ideas which offers the audience inspiration for a well-designed life. Though each display differs aesthetically and in its express purpose according to the needs of the client, I aim to always offer the audience surprise, joy, beauty, and an abundance of intelligence, wit, and thoughtfulness that they might carry into their day.
I am influenced most by sculptors and designers from the modern era: the well-designed interiors of William Morris, Charles and Margaret Mackintosh, and Frank Lloyd Wright; the beautiful juxtaposition of materials informing the work of Constantin Brancusi; the extensive design knowledge of Ray and Charles Eames; the artistic displays of Andy Warhol and Haim Steinbach; and the use of non-traditional materials, especially by artists such as Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Janine Antoni, and Kara Walker; and the conceptual basis for great displays in the work of Damian Hirst. I am also regularly inspired by many contemporary artists and designers whose work I come into contact with through venues including art museums, galleries, and publications. I am influenced and inspired also while simply walking past a Louis Vuitton window, browsing an Anthropologie, turning over a leaf of the New York Times, or flipping through a Restoration Hardware catalogue. Simon Doonan gets it. Art should not be relegated only to the obvious institutions. It should be created, installed, supported, and appreciated in as many forms and in as many venues as possible. I want to help a more inclusive, less limited art spill into the world so that it may affect, inspire, and elevate.
